Hoggan Boys

Herbie still didn’t want to go to baseball practice even with his new name. Do you want to take the long way by the the swimming hole? asked Herbie. Sure,said Raymond. Raymond’s dog shadow followed behind. Herbie heard something and stopped did you hear that? said Herbie. I hear splashing souds in the swimming hole.Herbie said who would be swimming at 9:15?They cheked it out and there was a lady swimming. We better get going before my Uncle gets mad at us for being late. Shadow got the lunch out of the ladys stuff and brought it to Herbie and Raymond. Shadow ate the sandwich and Raymond was not happy.  Maybe we can replace it, said Herbie Raymond tried to geuss what it was.Herbie smelled inside Shadow’s mouth and said it was liverwurst. How are we going to replace a liverwurst sandwich?Raymond rode home on his bike and got a liverwurst sandwich and put it in a brown bag. Herbie saw her do a dive,she reminded Herbie of a movie star. Herbie thought the morning was turning out to be fun. Herbie took a step back,He knew that person that was his 3rd grade teacher! Herbie could hear someone peddling down the pathway. It was Raymond with a brown bag. Herbie said it was Miss.Pinkham. Then Raymond was suprised that was Miss.Pinkham shhhhh! said Herbie. We didn’t have liverwurst in our frige so I made her a liver sandwich. A LIVER SANDWICH? shhhhhh! said Raymond.They both went out and put the bag on her towl and ran back. As soon as they got there Shadow pounsed on them,as theygot Shadow off one eye of Miss.Pinkham opened and she saw them. Nice to see you boys here. She said to then to sit down. Herbie was not breathing easily. She said a good morning swim because no one was there. We’ve been to the libary many  times this summer said Raymond. She said she was teaching 4th grade this year.Herbie if he was in her class,and she said yes. Then Raymond asked if he was in her class too,and she said yes. YIPPY! said Raymond we have to go now said the boys. Then they heard a scream.Did you cook that sanwich?asked Herbie. I didn’t said Raymond I didn’t have time. HOW COULD YOU!! yelled Herbie and peddled off.

Herbie wanted to play catch,he asked his sister to play with him,he also said he would wash the dishes if she played with him. So she played with him,Herbie wasn’t catching the balls at first,but he got better. Then he had to wash the dishes

Uncle Dwight asked them if they were scared.They both said no,Uncle Dwight laghed. After that they went to bed. In the morning Herbie was the last one awake.He saw Raymond  gobbling up panckakes. Herbie sat down at the table,and startd eating. Then Herbie’s Uncle Dwight said he had come down to be the coach for the baseball team. Herbie’s mom said they woud be excited to sign up for the baseball game. Raymond said that they were baseball greats. Herbie started to eat his napkin.Then Raymond said that they were instint inings at school. Herbie felt sick and ran to the bathroom. Raymond ran after him. Herbie said”How could you say that we were baseball greats”.Then Raymond said”come out”,I’m not the only one joining the team. Then Herbie came out of the bathroom. Raymond said that he had hats that would make them look look like baseball greats.They went up to the atic where Uncle Dwight slept. They looked under the bed where Uncle Dwight had a suit case full of laundry. Then they found a little box whith stuff in it,they found a note that said that Uncle Dwight was going to get married. They went out of the atic.

My book that I am reading is Herbie Jones and the Monster Ball. The main character is Herbie,he is my favorite character. He has a friend named Raymond. He has a sleep over with Herbie. They slept in Herbie’s playhouse,Raymond got hungry and went in with Herbie,Herbie said he can have crackers. They heard a knock at the door they opened it and no one was there. They went back into the playhouse and went back to sleep. They heard another knock at the back door.They looked at the back door,and there was a black figure there. Herbie looked harder, it was actually his uncle dwight!They both went down and  greeted him. They were both surprised,uncle dwight was a famous baseball player.
